Founded in 2015, Suri is Emory’s first and only Bollywood A Cappella group. Through a fusion of Bollywood songs with American pop, they aim to increase awareness of South Asian culture and music throughout the Emory community and beyond. Since its inception, Suri has performed at various events at Emory, around Atlanta, and at a national competition in Dallas. They host their own Winter and Spring Showcases, and are currently preparing to compete at two more national competitions this Spring. Named after the Persian word for “joyous celebration,” they look forward to spreading the vibrancy of South Asian music to a greater audience and adding diversity to the A Cappella community.
